The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is both a center of excellence for research on materials and plastic processing methods, particularly in the packaging sector, and a strong industrial hub for key plastic transformation technologies. Although plastic packaging remains essential in many applications, it currently suffers from a generally negative perception due to its petrochemical origin, environmental constraints, and broader user safety concerns (food safety, exposure to volatile compounds, etc.). In response to these challenges and new legislations and regulatory requirements (AGEC Law, PPWR, etc.), stakeholders across the packaging value chain must completely rethink technological pathways and associated business models—from raw material sourcing to production, usage, and end-of-life management of packaging.
In the context of regulatory, societal, and public policy developments, as well as their statutory missions, CT-IPC, CTCPA, and CTP have come together to consolidate upcoming actions around the multi-site platform Au3Ra. This platform aims to promote and support a 3R approach to enhance the durability and circularity of packaging in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. IPC, the coordinator of the Au3Ra platform, offers services focused on:
CTP • CTCPA
