MAYA

Objective

MAYA is a European project financed by the European Union as part of the 2020 innovation research programme. This project aims to find ways to include additive manufacturing in the production of fuselage panels with overmoulding of inserts and manufacturing on existing parts.

Challenges

• Additive manufacturing of polymer and composite parts that are compatible with the fire and smoke standards for overmoulding of printed parts.
• Assembly by gluing printed parts on injectable thermoformed composite panels.
• Thermoplastic sandwich overmoulding.
• Printing on thermoformed or injected composite panels.
